The topic today I want to show you how to create a subscription form that allows customers to download files after submitting them. You might see this method on a lot of websites to get more subscribers for their business.

First, we will download and activate the plugin name “Extensions for Elementor Form”. You can search this plugin on WordPress and it is free.

Set up Mailchimp API

In the backend visit Elementor >> Setting >> Integrations >> Then scroll to Mailchimp and add the API key. After adding the API key. Elementor will remember it is the default Mailchimp API for the website.

If you don’t know how to find the API key and how to connect it with Elementor Form, please check this video below.

Create Template Download

Visit backend go to Templates >> Theme builder >> Choose Archive >> Add New  >> Name your template >> then click Create.

I create a simple template with Title, description, and button download pdf file. Note: You have to upload your pdf file in the media then copy the link >> put it in the button Link.

Below is a screenshot I make a template.

After finishing click save without adding any condition.

Then you need an exit to the dashboard and visit the save the template to see the Shortcode like the picture below.

Design Download File Page

In this tutorial, I design a simple layout page with a picture ebook in the left column and subscribe form (Elementor Form) in the right column.

Form Setting

1/ Action after submit: Choose Mailchimp

2/ Custom Success Message: Copy shortcode from Template

3/ Mailchimp Setting: Choose default API because we already add in the backend. >> then Choose Audience >> don’t forget to field mapping.

After finishing setting the Elementor form we are done. Please don’t forget click save.

That’s it

I hope this method helps you and your client get more subscribers to the business or website. It helps a lot when we have to collect emails for marketing. Finally, enjoy your day.
